The financial services industry has been hit by a violent crisis which raises the question of the role and functioning of financial markets. This is why, it is more than ever of utmost importance to conduct effective reflection on the necessary means to strengthen the contribution of finance to sustainable development and make financial markets better take into account the long term view. Actions have already been developed in the field of Responsible Investment (RI), micro-finance and the contribution of finance to the funding of environmental technologies and eco-sectors. This Forum, organized by Paris EUROPLACE, co-hosted by Mr Nicolas SARKOZY, President of the French Republic, and Mr José Manuel BARROSO, President of the European Commission, aims at putting together new proposals at European level.
